I know that if you are anything like me you have more coupons that expire than your garbage can wants to hold! Why throw these precious gems away? Did you know that Military Families stationed abroad can use coupons up to 6 months after they expire?? Well they can...and do!
I myself grew up an Army Brat. I have had the great opportunity to live in such amazing places as Germany and Korea. However, I also remember my parents complaining a lot about the cost of food and other items. My mother always used coupons when she shopped at the PX and Commissary to try and cut down the cost. I can still remember standing with her outside the shops going through all the coupons scattered on the table that people had donated. Finding a coupon that was for something we needed was like hitting the lottery some days and my mother would jump in excitement. Now that I am older with a family of my own I have a chance to help other families that are stationed overseas hit their own coupon lottery. It is a great feeling to give back to those who sacrifice so much for us to live the way we do. Most do not understand how hard it can be for those overseas to leave everything behind (especially loved ones) and live in a strange place where things are so different. So here is a chance to help those who need it with coupons you don't need or can't use any longer!
There are several resources of places where you can donate your coupons to these families. Below is a small list of some that you can contribute to.
I am hoping soon to start an Adoption where individuals can adopt a family to sent their coupons directly to. This may help match up those with children or special needs with those who have those coupons to share. I am still working out the kinks on this little project since I want to make sure it is fair to everyone. This will of course require making sure some are not greedy!!
